The use of information and communication technology (ICT) is steadily on the rise and bears a number of benefits transforming lives including improved communication, business operations and advancing knowledge. ICT through digitization is transforming business models, the policy landscape and social norms. For instance, mobile communication technology is transforming lives through improved ways of doing and conducting business both in developing and developed countries by driving and supporting community-level socioeconomic changes as well as local, national and global economies and international development efforts. Development through economic paradigm shift from agriculture-based economy and industrial economy to knowledge-based economy and creative economy would require promoting and enhancing research, sharing practices and innovations related to mobile communication technology.
It is in this context that this MD4 2022 conference provides a forum for M4D enthusiasts to network, innovate, and share experiences of working with mobile technologies in developing contexts.
The MD4 2022 conference brings together leading researchers in applied ICT, government and industry representatives, including decision-makers with an interest in using ICT for sustainability and applications.
The conference is organized by the University of Rwanda (UR), College of Science and Technology (CST), in collaboration with Karlstad University, Sweden, and other partners such as Spider, IPID, UR-Sweden program, RISA, MOH Rwanda, and MINICT.
